ABC Founder Thomas Lovejoy awarded France's highest academic honor
On November 14, 2016, the French Embassy in the U.S. celebrated Amazon Biodiversity Center founder Dr. Thomas Eugene Lovejoy III for receiving the Ordre des Palmes Académiques, the highest academic medal given by France. Dr. Lovejoy is one of the few Americans to receive this award for his distinguished career in environmental science and global public policy to protect the Earth. Dr. Lovejoy received the award in 2014, but the formal ceremony was held last week.
