AMAZON ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Thomas Lovejoy Amazon Biodiversity Center is in the process of creating an International Advisory Council of senior figures from the Amazon region.  We anticipate that ultimately the Council will include six or seven people and will meet virtually three times a year to discuss Amazon challenges and opportunities ABC should consider addressing.

The current members of the Thomas Lovejoy Amazon Biodiversity Center's Amazon Advisory Council are:

Dr. Carlos Nobre (from Brazil), South America’s leading climate scientist and Amazon spokesperson;

Isabella Teixeira (former environment minister of Brazil);

Enrique Ortiz (from Peru), from the Amazon Conservation Association; and

Juan Mayr Maldonado (Colombia), former environment Minister (and other positions).
