The Thomas Lovejoy Amazon Biodiversity Center's research reserve is in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. For those who are not familiar with the region, below are some maps that can give you a sense of the location, size and scope of the reserve.
National Geographic's recent Amazon map project (created in cooperation with the Thomas Lovejoy Amazon Biodiversity Center and the Inter-American Development Bank) provides very helpful context on the size of the Amazon, the setting of our research reserve, and the impact of human development on the rainforest.
