The Amazon Aid Foundation has released a new documentary about illegal gold mining in the Amazon rainforest in Peru. Artisanal and small-scale gold mining in Peruvian rainforest is destroying biodiversity, washing away the rainforest's scant topsoil, injecting mercury into rivers and streams, attracting organized crime, and causing great suffering among workers and indigenous peoples.
